During the Church of Scotland's General Assembly, the Faith Impact Forum and Christian Aid are holding a climate justice fringe event. It takes place on Tuesday 23 May (12:30pm-14:00pm) at St Columba's-by-the-Castle. Lunch will be provided free of charge.

The event will explore various issues around climate justice, including why some of the countries that have done the least to contribute to the climate crisis are impacted the most. It will also focus on the impact on biodiversity loss both globally and in the UK, which is a key reminder that humanity is part of God's creation.

Head of Christian Aid Scotland Val Brown will be speaking about the impacts of climate change around the world, drawing on examples of the challenges facing coffee farmers in Honduras as she speaks about loss and damage.

There will be a discussion on some practical steps that individuals and their congregation can take, such as making progress towards becoming a Net Zero Church and taking action, as a church, on loss and damage.
