What is the London Freedom Walk?
Following an approximately 5 mile route around the capital, walkers discover the history of some of the city’s oldest churches and the stories behind the work they do, while being sponsored for Christian Aid.
Starts: 12pm from St Martin-in-the-Fields accessed from Charing Cross Station.
Ends: 5pm St Paul’s Cathedral for Evensong.
Catch up on the past Freedom Walks
In 2023, for our first event, more than 100 walkers and volunteers started at St James’ Piccadilly, with a short send-off service at 11.30am from Revd Dr Ayla Lepine, and ended at St Paul’s Cathedral, in time for the 5pm Evensong.
They raised more than £1,000!
The route included St Martin-in-the-Fields, St Bride's and St Bartholomew's. London Freedom Walk offers people the chance to see things they might otherwise miss when travelling around London, and to spend time with friends and family, while helping take steps to end poverty around the world.
